Course Description 

Language study with SPiiKA is organized around these general notions: communication, cultures and connections. In terms of proficiency levels, we have generally adopted the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) given its universal recognition. The goal is to get you actually communicating (“SPiiKING”) in French in relatively quick time. This course looks nothing like the traditional languages courses you may be familiar with where grammar and vocabulary are the focus and also treated as separate components. Rather, reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary acquisition will be integrated into this overall framework in a more practical, fun and engaging way. In the course of your language journey, you will learn to interact with your language peers and with native speakers of French in interpersonal contexts. Course goals and objectives will require that you take responsibility for your own learning, work steadily, be engaged and creative, work collaboratively with others, and hopefully in the process, have fun as you learn to communicate in French. 

Course Materials

● You need not purchase any course materials. We provide you with slides carefully designed by our team organized in Google Classroom for you.

● In addition, we send you a weekly dose of invaluable external resources to keep you practicing and learning.

Course Requirements

● Good Internet connection with at least 500MB of data bundle

● Device; phone, tablet or laptop (much preferred)

Course Structure

● In our attempt to make language learning more accessible and convenient, we deliver live online lessons, which means that you have access to your tutor to ask them questions you may have during sessions.

● Two meeting times a week, 1 hour per session for group lessons

● Access to materials for practice outside class sessions.
